In the Summer, The Edge Sports Center offers Classic 6-on-6 Youth Volleyball Leagues that are designed for INTERMEDIATE players in Grades 5 - 8. INTERMEDIATE means that the player has some previous volleyball experience such as that provided by The Edge Sport Centers's Instructional Volleyball Leagues and Volleyball Camps.

These 6v6 leagues have fixed teams for the season. A volleyball official runs the games and scores are kept.

A 1.5 hour team practice is held on one weekday evening and one-hour matches (minimum of 3 games) are played on a different evening.

There are two ways to sign up.

  • Players may sign up as INDIVIDUALS and be assigned to a team on the first day. The goal is to form teams with 7-9 players. A coach with volleyball experience will be assigned to each team.

Volleyball Instruction

The late Summer 6 v 6 Program will be led by Coach Becky Juarez

Coach Becky Suarez has been an assistant high school coach at Highland High School for the last 3 years. Prior to that, she coached middle school girls basketball and elementary age volleyball and basketball. Becky played competitive volleyball through the high school level.

Becky will be assisted by Liz Ignowski, who returns from assisting at our 2010 Volleyball Camp I and the Early Summer 6v6 league. Liz played HS Volleyball at Fort Collins High School and Club Volleyball with the Premier Volleyball Club in Fort Collins. She will be attending CSU in the Fall and will be trying out for the CSU Club Volleyball team.

Equipment Required: No equipment is required although many players like to wear knee pads. These can be purchased at The Edge Sports Center or in any sporting goods store or department store in the area.

The Volleyball Facility at The Edge

The large indoor synthetic turf field of The Edge Sports Center, with its 30 foot ceilings and excellent lighting, makes it a natural setting to hold grass volleyball camps and leagues. In many ways, it is actually preferable to an outdoor grass volleyball setup. Our 'ground' is perfectly flat, and there is no wind or rain to dampen the spirits of the players. For instructional activities such as camps and clinics,, up to six full size courts (30' x 60') can be set up, with 8' between courts on the side, 10' from the wall on either end, and a full 40' in the center where spectators can watch.
