Our Instructional Softball Leagues are designed for beginning and intermediate players (not for 'travel team' players). No experience is necessary. Instruction is provided by experienced, local softball instructors. Leagues cover both individual and team skills. All softball skills are covered (as time and age allows): hitting, base running, fielding, pitching (at an introductory level), and position play.

Session time is split 50-50 between skill building through drills and small-sided, controlled games (no scores are kept). The focus is on LEARNING and on HAVING FUN!

This program will be led by Coach Erin Butki

Coach Butki was a Division One Pitcher at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, NC. She was nationally ranked in strike outs/innings pitched, Conference MVP, Conference Tourney MVP and First Team All-Conference two years.

She was an assistant coach at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville in 1999-2003 .[In 2007, SIU/Edwardsville won the national championship!!] Coach Butki has coordinated the Colorado State University Youth Sport Camps in Softball and Baseball camps since 2003.

Coach Butki started playing when she was 6 and played for the Carolina Cardinals ASA/Junior Olympic team until college. She has been giving private pitching and hitting instruction since graduation and is still actively teaching.

In her own words, he is why she continues to be so involved in the sport:  " I love the sport. I really enjoy teaching young ladies to be the best that they can. It doesn't matter how big you are! I love teaching them not only the fundamentals of the sport, but everything else that comes with playing this awesome game."

Equipment Required: All players must have their own glove. Bats and batting helmets can be borrowed from The Edge during each session. Players should come in 'softball attire:' softball pants, jersey, and softball cap.
