Youth Flag Football Instructional Leagues |

Registration is OPEN for our SUMMER 2008 Youth Instructional Flag Football Leagues
Designed for beginning (no experience necessary) and intermediate players, these Instructional Leagues will cover both individual and team skills. After an initial two-hour skills clinic, session time is split between skill building through drills and small-sided scrimmages. No scores are kept - there are no fixed teams. The focus is on LEARNING and on HAVING FUN! 
BEGINNER Leagues
Open to any player in Grades K - 6 (Fall '08 Grade)
Early Summer Saturday Morning League: 6 weeks, Jun 7 - Jul 19
Late Summer Saturday Morning League: 6 Weeks, Jul 26 - Aug 30
INTERMEDIATE Leagues
Open to any player in Grades 2 - 6 (Fall '08 Grade)
that has previously completed a Flag Football Program at The Edge with Coach Jim Switzer
Early Summer Saturday Mornings: 6 weeks Jun 7 - Jul 19

Jun 7: 2-hour skills clinic for ALL Ages from 9 - 11am
Players will be split into groups & teams by age/ability after the Skills Clinic. THIS WILL DETERMINE THEIR SESSION TIME ON THE SUBSEQUENT SESSIONS. Number of separate groups depends on the number of players that register. Ages may be combined or split as necessary to create workable groups
Remaining Days: Start time depends on age/skill in range 8am to 10:30am
Session LENGTH & GAME FIELD SIZE vary by group:
- Grades K/1: 1 hour/ half-field

- Grades 4 - 6: 75 minutes/ full-field

Coach Jim Switzer returns as the lead instructor for this instructional league. Jim was a collegiate football player at Chadron State in Nebraska and was the Head Football Coach at Blevins Junior High from 1995-2001. He was also an Assistant Football Coach at Fort Collins High School from 2002-2004, and will be an assistant coach at Loveland High School in the Fall of 2008
Parent volunteers are needed to help run drills and coach the teams in the scrimmages.
